The Guardian Unlimited has a special Memorial Section for the Memorial Tributes to those killed in the horrifying and terrifying terrorist bomb attacks on London on July 7, 2005. See

I want you to look forward to the First Year Memorial Anniversary of 7/7 and remember to light a candle in memorial tribute to the departed souls such as the beautiful and wonderful Shahara Islam.

Shahara Islam

Shahara Islam, from Whitechapel, east London was born in Britain to a devout Muslim family of Bengali origin. She attended the mosque every Friday, but loved western culture and fashions and regularly shopped for designer clothes, shoes and handbags. She worked as a cashier at the Cooperative bank in Islington and died on the number 30 bus at Tavistock Square as she made her way to work from a dental appointment.

· As a regular customer at the Co-op bank in Islington, I remember Shahara. I didn't know her name, but I always used to hope she'd be working because she was very beautiful, courteous and smiled a lot - which made the queues much more bearable. I was quietly disappointed when she wasn't there the day after the bombs. I had no idea.

· I have known Shahara, or Shaz as we called her, for seven years as we attended the same school. Shahara was a very popular student with her teachers and fellow pupils and was an asset to Barking Abbey Comprehensive School. I was devastated when I heard the news of her tragic death and have thought of her every day since. Shahara was a pleasant upbeat girl who enjoyed socialising and loved her friends and family. She will be sadly missed by everyone that was fortunate enough to know her. My thoughts go out to her family.

· I've known Shaz for two years. She had the most beautiful smile - she was the kindest and the most caring individual I've ever known. My prayers and thoughts are with her family and friends. I know that she is resting in peace God wanted an angel and he choose her. May Allah always bless you Shaz.

· I remember her from the bank, as I am a customer of Co-op bank. She always had a smile and was very beautiful and was always very helpful if you had a problem. I was very sad when I recognised her on the news. I send my regards to her family.
